I Do

Because I love and cherish you,
And want to fill your heart with grace,
These things I promise I will do:

I vow to tell you what is true
That you might touch whom you embrace
Because I love and cherish you.

I vow to put aside my view
And paint my portrait from your place:
These things I promise I will do.

And when you must your dreams renew,
I vow to give you ample space
Because I love and cherish you.

I vow to make our battles few
And love the child behind the face:
These things I promise I will do.

And that we might make one of two,
Too deep to know, too vast to trace,
Because I love and cherish you,
These things I promise I will do.

2. These things I promise I will do
That life may grant you ample grace
Because I love and cherish you:

I vow to treasure what is true
That I might touch whom I embrace:
These things I promise I will do.

I’ll build a garden in your view
That with sweet fruit will stone replace
Because I love and cherish you.

I vow to love each day anew,
For love must dance through time and space:
These things I promise I will do.

I vow to make your terrors few
And then with you those demons face
Because I love and cherish you.

And now, as we make one of two,
A passage we cannot retrace,
These things I promise I will do
Because I love and cherish you.

Special Wedding Vows

The wedding vows are a solemn promise between the groom and bride. In front of witnesses, the groom and bride take turns to tell their wedding vows. There are hundreds of wedding vows. The wedding vow may be religious, traditional, interfaith, or personalized.

Traditionally, the one who marries you asks a series of questions to the groom and bride. Facing each other and holding hands with each other, the groom and bride take turns to do the wedding vows.

I know not if the voice of man can reach to the sky
I know not if the gods will hear as I pray
I know not if the gifts I asked for will be granted
I know not what will come to pass in our future days
I hope that only good will come, my love, to you.

I know now that the voice of man can reach to the sky
I know now that the gods have heard as I prayed
I know now that the gifts I asked for have all been granted
I know now that the word of old we truly have heard
I know now that our future days will have no number
I know that only good will come, my love, to us

I give you my love for all eternity. My devotion to you, unwavering. I promise to hold you and cherish you, through the good times and bad, in sickness and health, to share my life with you, to give myself fully, to give love and support to the best love in exceeding all my abilities. With this ring, I thee wed for now and forever. There was no one in my past, no one my present, and there will be no one in my future who will ever have a hold on me. You are my life.

More Romantic Destinations

There are just so many great honeymoon destinations out there. So in order to help you choose the perfect location for your honeymoon or romantic getaway, I’ve compiled this list of five great romantic destinations.

These five spots are all naturally blessed, with amazing scenery, wonderful hotels, and fantastic restaurants — everything you want in a honeymoon destination.

1. Antigua

Antigua is a great little Caribbean island. It has excellent beaches and even better hotels. Home to several wonderful and intimate resorts, Antigua is laid back and relaxing. If you are looking to just get away from it all, be pampered, and enjoy a perfect beach, then Antigua is the place for you.

2. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo is known for its great golf and deep sea fishing, but it is also home to some amazing world-class resorts and some incredibly romantic locations. Blessed with year-round warmth, amazing beaches, and stunning coastal views, Cabo is one honeymoon spot you really should consider.

3. San Francisco, California

The City by the Bay is arguably the most romantic city in North America. With its breathtaking coastline, world-class dining, wonderful hotels, and the most amazing city views, San Francisco is the perfect romantic getaway for those seeking a more cosmopolitan experience. As an added bonus, the wonderful Napa Valley is just an hour away, making for a great day trip from the city. Take a hot air balloon ride over the wineries, and top the day off with a perfect gourmet dinner and a bottle of local wine - now that’s a honeymoon experience to remember!

4. St. Lucia

One of the most beautiful islands in all of the Caribbean, St. Lucia is also home to some incredible romantic hotels set in about the most beautiful locations you can imagine. A volcanic island, St. Lucia is known for its steep peaks covered in lush tropical greenery. It is truly a romantic paradise, with amazing beaches, dramatic coves, and incredible sunsets. Saint Lucia is the perfect place for a quiet, romantic honeymoon.

5. Riviera Maya, Mexico

Located south of Cancun on Mexico’s eastern Caribbean coast, the Riviera Maya is home to white sand beaches, stunning turquoise waters, and ancient Mayan pyramids and other ruins. There are some wonderful new hotels along the Riviera Maya too. The area is great for those seeking modern comforts combined with the opportunity for adventure. Venture out from your luxury hotel to explore the pyramids or go diving in ancient underground rivers. The Riviera Maya is a great place for anyone looking for that perfect mix of romance, excitement, culture, and vibrant nightlife, and it’s one of my favorite romantic destinations.

Spring Weddings

Written by PLS on June 30th, 2008

Getting married or having a bridal shower in the spring? Spring is such a beautiful time of year no matter where you live. Flowers are blooming and everything is getting greener by the day. Let’s take a look at some great spring wedding favors options. If you want to incorporate the blossoming of flowers during spring into your wedding or bridal shower theme, you’re in luck. There are so many elegant wedding favors that incorporate a floral theme, you just have to choose which one is your favorite. Orchid gel candles or the Two Peas in a Pod candles make great floral candle favors. Prefer to stay away from candles? Your guests are sure to love the Calla Lily bottle stopper or Calla Lily bookmark – both very practical favors your guests will want to use throughout the spring and summer months. How about wildflower seed favors? What a fantastic way to bring a little green to your day by giving your guests favors that give back to the environment. I know when I’m driving down the highway and see miles of wildflowers blooming along the side of the road a smile comes to my face as I think how beautiful the flowers are. Your guests can sprinkle your wildflower seed favors wherever they would like to see a burst of color in their own yards. Seed favors are very thoughtful and add very little waste to our environment. The Magic Love Bean is such a unique spring wedding favor your guests are sure to talk about for months to come! Absolutely adorable in a hand-painted pot, this spring favor is magical. Your guests follow the planting directions of the bean and voila! In a few short weeks, the magic bean sprouts from the soil with LOVE on the bean. The best favors are those that your guests will truly use again. Pretty sachet pillows your guests can use in their lingerie drawers are also welcome favors as are bookmarks, photo frames, key chains and place card holders that can be used to hold notes. Spring theme options include butterflies, calla lily, roses, daisies and more. The worst thing is to spend your money on favors that get thrown into the garbage can because your guests really just don’t know what to do with them after the wedding or shower. Putting a little thought into your wedding favors ensures your guests will want to receive them and will use them again in the future.
